re-using rubber seal

Is it an awful idea to re-use a rubber transom seal on my volvo? The only reason I'm asking is because i'm having a hard time finding one, at least in a timely manner. The rubber looks mint, but I know, things in the boating world seem to alwyas be a big no no. Whatcha think?

I'll catch a lot of flak for this but I'll say it anyway. First find and order one, then look at the one you have. If its still round (Cross section), doesnt have any cracks and feels pliable, it will be ok to reuse till the new one comes in. I have had to do it a few times in the past. Of course its always best to go back with new.

Yeah, it really looks like its in perfect shape. What type of sealer do they use?
