I love that show. I know a good majority of it is probably crap, but it's better than alot of the other crap on tv!

If it was that easy to resell other people's junk everyone would do it. What they don't show is the times they get burned buying stupid stuff. But if you are used to taking the risks... I guess if you make more than you spend in the end you are making money, right?

My wife and I love the show, as we own a somewhat similar business.

The show hasn't hit Canada yet. I think I saw an ad that it debuts in January on history channel. I'll have to watch for it.

About the boat, the repair guy said they acid washed the hull to cleanit up and give it new shine. I do not know how much that costs, but the rest of the repairs they described were no where close to adding up to $4K, not even at a marina shop.

The boat did look good, but of course no one checked the deck, stringers or transom for Rot either... I think the boat was bought and sold for two much, considering its age and the info we were given. But hey, it is TV right. THey got us to watch it....

I was in that shop earlier this year, bought a couple of rings for the wife. It's a lot smaller than it looks on TV. Mostly jewelry that I could see. I'm not sure if there is a back room with the non-jewelry stuff they buy, or if you have to call to see if they have something you want, but there wasn't racks of stuff to browse through. Neat though. Nice guys. The bald one (Rick) stayed late to resize a ring for the wife till it fit. Didn't get to meet the others. I do find that show interesting, mostly because of the ripping they do on one another.

I like the show....however it is a tad painful how hard they are trying to make it the next American Chopper. It ain't workin'. Comes across too forced.
