Hi there guys! i recently bought my first fishing boat. its 14ft long fiberglass made by a company prob nobody has ever heard of (Cador-Mat). anyways it is kinda like an aluminum boat but fiberglass and it has a semi floor in it that is just plywood from one side of the boat to the other side with a thin layer of fiberglass on it. there is no stringers and the floor is really rotten so the only thing holding it together is the fiberglass. so im not sure what i should do with it i'm guessing the floor in that boat adds some strength to the hull so you cant just get rid of it all together. so do you guys think i should just leave it and use the boat or should i rip it out and put in a proper floor with 2x4 or 2x6 stringers in it with a plywood deck? any suggestions appreciated. :D

Just a newbie myself but, build it back the way it was originally built would seem the best logic.....but with some reading and advice I am sure you might come up with some other ideas.

Pics would really help us to help you. From the sound of it I would think you're thinking is correct and the deck should be replaced to help strengthen the boat.
