Really stupid forum question I should really know by now (smileys)

Yeah I know I have almost 5k posts and am a moderator but I have NO IDEA how to add many of the various available smileys to my posts. The only one I know to make is and that is just a simple colon/parentheses. I see the smileys here below my post window but those are just to add one to the entire thread. How do I put them in-line?

Just click the smiley. It will be inserted wherever the cursor is.

The smileys show up to the right of the edit window. Just place the cursor and click on a smiley. If you have ad software, it may be blocking them from appearing. You can also manually add some like so (useful in the quick reply section):

:) 
;)
:D
:mad:
:redface:
:rolleyes:

Those equate to:
:redface:

Edit options
Misc Options (near the bottom)
Message editor interface

Change it to standard editor (with extra controls)

save and go back to play, with the emoticons.

Well I checked out the options and realized that the advanced one lets you post links that show as links directly without clicking the little link icon.

Way more convenient, I wonder what else the advanced lets ya do?
