It may be a broken shock,loose lug nut, or way loose bearing,as you are thinking.<br />I would fing out just what is bumping,by jacking it up on that side,and wiggling the wheel (tire and all),and listening. Is it making the noise when you wiggle the wheel? Is it silent? If it is making the bumping noise, is it comming from the center of the hub area? I think it will have shoe as opposed to disc brakes,but iether way, a pad or shoe could've come loose.<br /><br />At any rate, the bearings are pretty much standard back there, so it's not a hard job,with the right tools...Just very messy. So when you pick up the parts,get a good size pack of rags and some GoJo or other good hand cleaner
