For a good video to unload and load a boat, surf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKD3TjRu3zQ
Note: I'd put the trailer into the water a little bit more. re: Water at top of rubber tires.

Another good video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luvVC1GtkFI
Notice its trailer fender depth. To me, this is good depth - for a tandem trailer.

For a trailer with guides (to align boat on trailer) surf:

Note: I hear trailer guides are worth it. Esepcially for newbies...

Witin each video clip, the Tow Vehicle's rear wheels remain on dry land.

Re: Rear brakes froze on tow vehicle...

Well we launched and retrieved Saturday and the water was not up on the tire as much as I thought it was getting....Not saying it has not been deeper but the water was not quite up to the rim so guess that wasn't it as far as the calipers go...Not sure if we are going to the other lake since it has too much crap in the water(AKA WEEDS) growing at the launch site and season is almost done for us....I will watch from now on just to be safe. If nothing else I will take advice and get slicks. I do have to submerge the trailer wheels do get the boat in or out due to the launch ramp's design. Perhaps the slicks can help a bit. I have guides on there to help and bearing buddies which are checked and lubed. I probably need a smaller and easier boat to deal with. Mine is just not a normal boat for either of these lakes. But I needed something extra deep and roomy for the wife who has balance issues due to medication and frankly the old boat does pretty well, even in heavily wooded lake areas. Gets a few stares but also some complements. Anyway, it serves the purpose....just a pain to load and unload as you can't just climb into it when out of the water. Always take a small ladder with me, LOL. The trailer needs some additional updates and repairs as I found one of the rollers had a broken bolt and one of the boards is off slightly now. So will rewire it with LED lights, clean it up and repair what needs repaired this winter. One thing I noticed when looking at the other empty trailers Saturday....The ones that had bunks had the wood mounted with the sides up, while on mine the boards are "upright"......Is this normal?
