I'm planning toto remove rear deck above engine room on 2000 Larson Cabrio 330.
Anyone in the forum that has done this before?
What to watch for, best method.
Thank you

We need to replace a wiring harness. Solder in a new 9pin pigtail harness, removing floor will give us greater access we will also take the opportunity to clean up entire engine room.

Welcome to iBoats. This is one of the friendliest boat sites out there.
Nice looking boat.
I cannot help with your question but it would help if you added some detail and pictures of the area in question.
Like, is the deck soft? How has the boat been maintained? etc...
Sadly, soft floors tend to be indicative of other issues.
Again,. welcome.

Here is a similar Larson on boat Trader. Has a couple of engine area pics.

A lot of those style boats are made for the deck to come up easily to allow work on the manifolds and replace the engines.

A lot of them have large hatches that just pop off to allow the kind of access you need.

In this image, I believe that the engines are under the aft deck with the pull ring and seat post. Ahead of that seems to be the low headroom salon/bunk area.

So you just want to remove the lid? That's easy. The ends of the shocks are held by a spring clip built into the head. You'll see a little indentation under the spring. Stick a small flat head under it and twist to release it. It only needs pulled out a little bit, then you can pop the shock off of the bracket.

After that, just have someone hold the lid while you unscrew it. Might be wood screws, might be machine screws with nuts on the back side.

If only there were screws or something.....

start by pulling all the exposed hardware holding the deck on and pull it. you may need an overhead hoist as that whole aft assembly is probably 600#

Note, some of the snap hardware may be doing double-duty as both snap and deck holding.

600 combined? I think they are 3 separate pieces
