rear motor mounts

1975 mercruiser mc-1 inline 6 ; the steel bushing in the center of rear motor mount in bellhousing surrounded by rubber removable ? or has bushing torn away from rubber. please don't confuse this bushing with the one that goes over on top of motor mount and under bolt washer, thanks chris

The rear mounts do fail like that, and left unchecked will destroy the engine coupler and input shaft on the outdrive.
Yes they are replacable, but you do have to pull the engine to do it.
Head up to the Adults Only sticky and download the OEM manual. It will make the job a lot easier.

thanks Don, that kinda confirms why coupler is to low (1/4inch) for proper alignment
