I don't remember. The stern is a little bowed out, but the lip of the cap is straight. It fits properly up front. I am unable to adjust the position of the cap and get all seams tight. So I am left to deal with this gap.
Is it possible that amidship the cap is sitting a tad lower then it was before?
If its lower this will move the stern out further if the bacp sits lower on both ends and higher amidship

No. I checked that. It seems the stern has gone out of sorts over time.
Also, where the stern does bow out and contacts the cap, I have the screws inserted into the original holes, so I know it is correctly lined up.
