A lot of guys knock this motor but is it is a hidden powerhouse if hotrodded!! I used to sell all I could get my hands on to a fellow (Danny) in Indiana. He ran them in a dirt track car and with special mod's ,a custom sheetmetal intake and 1150 holly, engine would put out if I remember 450 hp @ 7500rpm. It said it was great as it was light and they could add weight to car where needed and it would spank a V-8 off the corner and into the straightaway!! I sold him about 8 of these engines.

Young guns think they invented everything.

Why did you have to keep sending him motors if they held up, to his supin them up??

And yea i'm a old fart but i'm down the road from Englishtown raceway.

450 hp is that all ?? Ha !

Ayuh,....

The Motor has to be properly aligned with the gimbel bearing, or the drive won't go back on...

I jusr read all Book of Mercruiser Serivce manual engine rebuild.. it look easy!
I just order Alignment Engine tool for Mercruiser (R) and (MR) for my buddy his new Vortex 350Ci V8 in his 89' Glastron Futura 227... I paid for 25 buck Brand new..

My buddy say my boat Stern drive, Prop, Gimbal and lower and upper are new.. motor is Same snice he have it and he say havent rebuild till last rebuild in 6/12/03 with over 1300hours on it.. impressive..

he say I may make 470 longer snice i know rebuild and etc..

Here my Nova it 1970.. but i have 1968 but i dont have pic of 68 yet. cuz shell is at Acid dipper for now..,

is there a aftermarket Starter? Anyone know parts number for starter? i would like to get new one..

He was buying em for back up engines and parts, I'll dig around and see if I can find pic he sent me. My buddy Gary( Gary Jennings Racecars) had a 4.3 custom built that dyno'd out at 800hp on alky and other bro Mike Nadol has a 18ft Hondo with a 800 ci Aries with 10/71 buzzard catcher blower, F16 fighter capsule that makes a little over 1800hp
