rebuilding mariner 8B lower unit , replacing unit seals in the OEM service manual it says to apply lockite type "A" to outer seal surfaces, any know what is the equivalent compound.
plus the equivalent to perfect seal 92-34227Q02
Loctite can be bought at auto parts stores and Perfect Seal from a Mercury dealer; it can be used for propshafts, general gasket sealing, bolts etc. It's good stuff that dries to a tough rubber - like material that prevents corrosion.
