Have the starter rebuilt with a new solenoid. Easier to do it with engine out than in.

Rear engine mounts coming up 20 years. Worth thinking about those too.

Just an update...got the motor out Sunday took a whole 2 hours and a skid steer. Not to bad hopfully it doesn't become a habit haha. I ordered the oil pan, valve cover gases, engine gasket kit that came from I boats and will be looking at the water pump as I pull it to replace the gasket. I did notice the baffels on the exhaust are almost completely gone so I will either replace the baffels if possible or the whole exhaust y pipe. I'm glad I ordered the whole transo, mrebuild kit bc the exhaust bellow has holes all in it and I haven't really looked at the others yet. Unfortunately I realized after I removed the out drive I completely forgot to put it in forward. It came right off and really easy so I'm hoping that nothing got messed up. I'm guessing since everything is out I should go ahead and finish everything I've started. Any advice on the outcries part. And thanks for everyone's advice so far.
