Rebuilding - 1995 150 Johnson looper -Am I missing anything?

Bored and honed all 6 - New Pistons &Rings
All the right Johnson adhesives
New Powerhead Gasket kit
New Bearings rod and crank
New Crank Rings
Carb rebuild kits
New Plugs - Champion
New Leaf Plates
Have all the proper Torque wrenches and Factory manual
New Paint Job
New Water Pump kit

I don't wanna go this far and miss something I should have replaced.

Rod bolts - hadn't thought of that. Do they go bad? Guess it doesn't matter at 30 cents each

Can I get these at Napa or only OEM?

Oh yeah use rod bolts once then throw away... had to get mine from Dealer...use plenty of Vasoline on all the bearings...also do you have the O rings for the crank (they go around the upper bearing housing and lower bearing cap)

Did gasket kit come with new upper seal? Rod bolts are OEM#308186 and aftermarket #RB5000. Rod bolts are about $2.50 ea.

make shure you found the problem and fixed it.

The Sierra Rod bolts are part # 18-4075.

Yes these engines can pass some gass. I did the math once. To pay the $28,000.00 back it would cost for new ones I'd have to burn 15 gph for 3000 hours or somthing like that. I'll rebuild.

About the lower crankcase seal. Is that included in the PH gasket kit? and the Orings for the crank? I sure wish there was a list of whats included in th e PH gasket kit.

I have ordered 2 differnt kits from 2 different people the seals didnt come with the gasket set they are called "Crank seal kit" it comes with the o rings for upper and lower bearing retainers and is actually what helps seal the upper and lower part of the case...not to be confused with crank seal rings they are totally different..this is the case on crossflows anyways havent done a looper yet
