Rebuild carbs

HI i just rebuilt the carbs 2 years ago and it seems like i need to do it again but why i have a 225 evinrude 1986 and it starts up for a second and shouts off why is that i need help?

When it starts, is it only when the chock is in-gauged?

Yes it is only when the choke in ingadged

Ok, try and spray fuel/oil mix out of a squirt bottle in to the carb/s and see if it will continue to run. If it does, a couple of things you will need to check. Is fuel pump and vent operational? 2nd. Are carb. float/s plugged or hung up. Get back and let us know what you find!

Well rebuilding carbs every couple of years depends on a couple of factors. If you live in the south and use it every three to four weeks and let it sit. Then what happens is the fuel evaporates out of the carbs of that time. The oil that is mixed in the fuel starts to clog up everything over repeated times. So yes you could require a carb cleaning. Not uncommon down south.

Seeing that you did not fill out your profile completely then I can not make that determination.

If its not idling take the cover plate off and look down the throttle bore and see if fuel is running out of the holes in the trottle butterfly plate. There is three holes at the butter flies. They are probably clogged. Take the carbs off and poke a wire thru each hole and spray with carb cleaner. These holes are the ones that provide your fuel at idle.

Hi we cleaned out the carbs and we sprayed the premix oil/gas in the carbs and it fired up for a little and we were priming it now it just runs for a little and shuts off

and we just check we arent really getting any spark right now and now we have a rapid beeping noise going off
