well, i got the call today that my 98 force 120 is ready!! i cant wait.

i know the break in ratio is 25:1, so here is my dilema. i have fuel already in the tank that he tested and says is fine. i dont know exactly how much fuel is in there though. i know i have a 43 gallin tank, but whos to say how accurate the gauge is. what do you guys suggest? make my best guess and compensate for oil, or get a seperate temporary plastic tank until the break in period is done?

thanks guys

by the way. total for rebuild , including wiseco forged pistons, cutting head, block and exhaust was 1900$

not bad at all, and the mechanic was just great to me.

anyone in new jersey that needs a force rebuilt, i reccomend this guy.

his name is paul @

South Jersey Outboard

i wont post phone number or website, but if you want it, e mail me at

wraenking@yahoo.com

Hi - just some ideas...

Is the tank nearly full? If so top it up with the same mix that's already in there. Then you know you have 43 gallons exactly all of the same mix and you can enrich it appropriately.

Or - drain the tank into cans/drums measuring as you go if there's not too much in there - then adjust the mixture and put it back.

Good idea on the portable tank, but you better get two. That motor will eat up a 6 gallon tank in nothing flat, not to mention the chance of running out.

Maybe use the portable and syphon gas from the main tank. If you suck the portable tank dry fill it with main tank and mix as you would 50 to 1 which would make the gas in the portable 25 to 1

add oil and gas to tank 3 gal at a time this way you preserve 50:1 mix once tank is full add oil for 43 more gallons.
