I am back at working on a 79 Sea Ray SRV200 after a 3 year break. After getting the stringers and transom in and it gets down to the fun part of putting in the engine. Should I get a rebuilt motor and install new manifolds or keep my eye out for a newer model complete Mercruiser engine and install it? I have seen some for around the $2500 to $2800, one was a 96 and the other was an 02, I believe. What are the opinions out there?

Thanks,

jas

Re: Rebuild engine or buy used Mercruiser engine ?

I just ordered a replacement for my 1992 Mercruiser 4.3L engine from Rapido Marine in Florida.

I was impressed with their site and processes. My engine was $1,300 for a long block with heads plus $150 for shipping.

go to www.rapidomarine.com and look at their site and engine sizes available.
