Hi , I have a 1996 2bbl mercarb on a 5.7 chevy, should I rebuild it or buy an Edelbrock marine carb 2bbl or change intake manifold and put a 4 bbl on it ? Thanks for the help.

I would sure rebuild first, before spending the money for a new carb.
What is your problem? It may not be your carb.

I agree with Don on this one.. Unless you have cash ya wanta unload into the boat.. I don't think the minor performance change warrants the price of a intake and a new carb..
The rebuild just cost the price of the rebuild kit well and some carb cleaner.. A novice mechanic can rebuild a carb.. Follow the directions and clean everything real good.. Once ya think its clean.. Clean it a bit more..:D Don't strip anything out..Be real careful in that area;) I was eyeballin the dishwasher the other day thinking hmmmm steam clean.. My wife would kill me
