Sounds like there is alot of knowledge here in ths forum so i'm wondering if there are any boat mechanics in this forum that might be able to help. I have a 72 250 I-6 mercruiser that has a rod knocking any clue how much $ it should cost to rebuild this engine? I'm in the kansas city area anyone live in this area that knows a good shop that i can trust.

Thank you.

Unfortunately there is no way to guess that from here. You need to pull the motor and tear it down. At that point a good machine shop will be able to tell you what you need, and how much it will cost.

I was guessing 1,000-1,600 from what i hear it is a pretty easy engine to work on.
