rebuilding 53' john 3 HP,High speed needle valve stuck

I'm rebuilding a 53' JW-10 3 HP, I'm just getting to the carb now that I've rebuilt the entire ignition system. My problem is the High speed needle valve won't turn at all. Even with the packing nut removed. First time I've been frustrated rebuilding my now deceased grandfathers little Johnson 3. does anyone sell rebuilt carbs, or needle valves???????

Try soaking the whole carb bowl in penetrating oil a few days,then try again.Use gentle heat (propane).<br />Be careful of the fumes.<br />DHP
