I have a mercury black Max xr2 150 two stroke (1984). Runs pretty well, seems powerful on my 19' Dixie open bow. It idles down once warm and cuts off most of the time, but its not a huge problem. Carbs look like new inside, they are very clean.
The issue at hand is, my top left cylinder is only about 60 Psi. The rest of the cylinders are around 120. I can, with the help of my father, rebuild it myself for the cost of parts. Since I've already made my boat what I want, it does exactly what I need on the water (even with 5 1/2 cylinders) it looks good, and I ha e only 1500 in it, I am gonna rebuild the motor rather than sell and start again. If I buy another motor, I don't know what I'm getting. Oil injection, carbs, tranny part of the motor (dunno what its called) is all in good shape.
What I need help with is finding out where to order the parts. Can I get a 'rebuild kit'?
