rebuilding carburator on 93 johnson 88 spl; how hard or easy is it ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br />1993 johnson 88 special, I am quite handy with mechanical stuff, question is How hard or easy is it to rebuilt the carbs myself? anything i should be very cautious and careful with? what should i look out for? like springs or adjustments, etc.....<br /><br />any opinions very helpful.

if you dont have a manual dont even try it. if you have a good manual you will be fine.its not all that hard just need a good clean area to do it.i use a new oil drain pan to take everything about over so if i drop somthing it does not bounce on to the floor.also makes it easy to spray the carb down when you have it all apart.they make a gallon can of carb cleaner at the local auto store all you do is put the parts and the carb(apart) in the basket and let is soke in the gallon of carb cleaner (it looks like a gallon paint can)i think its made by "gunk" it works great.old tooth brushes work well also and tooth picks to help clean out the jets.dont use anything hard because you can riun the seats on the carb.hope this helps you

Please get a manual. The carb overhaul itself is kind of simple, but the little details are not imprinted on us at birth. You will need a manual to get the carb float height correct. The sync and link procedure at the end of the job is most important.<br /><br />Good luck,<br /><br />Duck L.
