:confused:Ok so i just got my block back from machine shop. ..had to be bored .044.? Is this common? What should be my next step? I was hoping the machine shop would have waited to get pistons before boring but it is what it is. Should i just get a complete gasket kit.? Re-use rods ? Main bearings? Polish the crank journals? I don't want to give up on this motor! We just moved and had to transfer dis-assembled motor is never fun...I don't care HOW you pack it! Anyway , do you think there is a chance this thing will run this year? )

Oops, now you really have a challenge. Oversize pistons mosly exits in .030 maximum. When you look for non original like Wiseco .040 sometimes exists. But .044, I am sorry but there is no solution for. I do not know what orders you gave the machineshop.

Yes and make sure it has the upper/lower crankshaft seals as some kit you have to order separate...
Re-use rods ? Main bearings? Polish the crank journals?
Clean and reuse rods if not damaged or pitted in the bearing surface area, you can reuse the center main if not damaged but replace the upper/lower bearings for sure, you can polish the journals if you want just make sure crank not pitted where needles run...

The cylinders had to really be worn or damaged to go this big... make sure you increase the main jets 2 sizes larger, install new deflectors in cylinders,R/R the t-stats and poppets. Make sure you break in the engine several heats cycles at low rpm to harden the pistons as the Wisecos are soft. Break in at low rpm for at least 5 hours and then break in the other 5 hours as usual.
