hi<br />I rebuilt my carbs but i have a question, i started my motor and it ran fine, it idled down real smooth.<br />i noticed that the throttle flaps where wide open <br />all the time. even after the motor warmed up.<br />is this a linkage probelm or is this normal? :confused: <br />oh my motor is a 1976 johnson 70 HP.<br />thanks<br />Don

Are you sure you are not thinking of the choke flaps, which are the ones you see first, looking into carb throats. If throttle butterflies were wide open I doubt you would experience any iddle, only loud roaring !!

They only close when you engage them. If they closed while running it would flood your engine and stall it out.
