The whisper is nice, it has a soft, more warm feel to it like leather.
O.K. I back tracked on the post and got the story line straight. The Whisper is nice stuff. It used to be called "Pleather", Whisper must be the new name for it. It is nice, very nice in fact. Not something you'ld want to put on a fishing boat but it would look great on a lady chaser, (my term for offshore boats that never see salt water).

those vinyls seem like they are very thin. I would be worried about putting them on the plywood I'm laying down mostly just because it wouldnt seem like enough padding between the wood and your foot. I see this deco dot floor vinyl on Cabela's, its appealing to me but I have one concern. I havent been on a boat for years and I cant remember how hot the floor gets. I can see where if vinyl heated up really good you would not want to step on it with your bare foot and how carpet is probably better in that aspect. Can anyone confirm? I wanted to match the grey carpet already on the sides of my interior but now I'm thinking I might go for something white-ish so it won't attract heat.

Carpet or Vinyl.. The question has been asked a thousand times. I won't send you off to another post though. All vinyl gets hot, white or black. White will reflect the sun and heat up slower. If you have a show boat and your not a fisherman then carpet is your answer.

If you fish a lot then vinyl is the best choice because when your fishing you tend to make a mess and you use hooks. Carpet is a hook magnet and will tick you off to no end. Stick a hook into that nice new nagahyde and give it a real good tug.

Ever cut bait ?

I think you get the idea.

hmmm. yeah fishing is a possibility every once in awhile, just a casual thing though. Its weird because all the new "show" boats I see have fiberglass/epoxy floor while all the fishing boats have the grey short carpet in them.

okay I dont have an example for the cruisers...they have a heavier carpet in them I guess.

I just did the floor of my 16' with Durabak, it's nice but not cheap. I used exactly 1 gallon for the floor area.
Here's a pic of how it turned out.ry%3D400[1].jpg
