Great Job! A Nice Classic boat design, with innovative timeless features, like the sliding hardtop! I remember it well, I think Ziggy on here, has one of these, wait till he see's it! ;)

absolutely gorgeous. love that blue too. i like my lime green, but that blue is sweet. the real cats meow to me.... of all the colors nineteens came in, that would be the color i'd pick. if i had my choice. that's for sure......

what year is that? looks like my 75 short of the carpet on the sides instead of the woodgrain contact paper i have.

got any more pics? like of the helm. i love aristocraft helms. as advertised, very sports car like.

is that carpet from the original runs? that ya still had in stock? or did ya end up on the new market for carpet? olefin carpet?

just an great looking boat + great restore. i'd take that anyday over a new boat.......

yes mikdee, i'm drooling for sure..........

Beautiful restoration. Any before pics that you can post? Always nice to see the carnage beforehand to truly appreciate the effort that obviously went into this project.

Hey everyone. That is a 77 model. They did not start putting carpet on the sides until 78, but this customer liked the carpeted look better. No that is not the factory carpet. He wanted something with a little more pile to it, so that is what he chose. I will look to see if i have some before pics of it, or during, it would have been some great shots of the floors out and re-foaming it.

Ziggy i will try to find some dash shots for ya.

Re: recently restored 19

yer red nineteen looks great. looks like your rivers may be a little prettier than the ones up this way..... 2 nineteens in the same place. cool. i finally ran into some one up my way this summer that had one. his was the red top, creamish color bottom i think. it was a shade moddified though. like a pedistal fishing chair mounted on the bow deck. he had it all decked out for his use though. fishing. was cool to see two in one place though......

looks great to see a nineteen all buttoned up (top slid fwd) in the fall. these nineteens really let ya go out in much more adverse weather than yer regular bowrider... i was out yesterday. about 65* and windy. larger sailboats and fishermen out mostly. all dressed in long sleeve shirts and long pants. myself. i was hiding in my nineteen with the back canvas on. really buttoned up. had my swimsuit on...... had to come up for air once in while for some cool air, nice and toasty warm inside.... :D

yes this was a nice cool day, high fifties, wearing fleece and just cruising. the tops do make the season last a lot longer. and the rear cover even extends it further! The other nineteen was my fathers boat, and the third nineteen was his brothers boat, we all took them out for a river day cruise. a red, a brown, and a blue. what a sight.

I'm hoping that my boat that I just bought and that has been sitting outside for eight years does not have waterlogged foam. It's removal would be too much for me.

I'm afraid, the boat is really heavy. -- A bad sign I'm sure.

How can I tell please?

How can I tell please?
while i'm not the pro at that question. one way would be if it's hard to plan or won't plane. to much load to push w/all the extra water on board. another way might be to take it to the weigh station and weigh it. i think they're supposed to weigh around 1700 lbs. +or-. i think i can find the weight of it if ya wanna know. or scott @ aristocraft will know i bet. ya need to compensate for the weight of the trailer and any gear and fuel ya have on board though. another destructive method is putting a hole in the sole somewhere. then take a core sample of the the foam. i've suspected i could be a shade heavy too. but the boat performs ok. it also sits statically in the water about what i think is proper. so i've not tested mine. to me, that's would be the first look for you i'd think. just toss it in the drink and see how it sits. i can take a pic of mine so ya can see the water line if ya want. or i went to the aristocraft website and looked at the pics their boats in the water statically. mine sits about like the pics.

Re: recently restored 19

Thanks, I have an email sent to Scott at aristocraftboats.com . -- I won't be able to get mine in the water for quite sometime and if I'm full of foam rot or water I am going to back out of my deal.

In the above post Scott says he had to replace the foam. -- That scares me.

There isn't a scale around here.

I'm afraid!

Re: recently restored 19

around me, there are scales at the truck weigh stations. also there is one at my local garbage dump... best i can do for ideas for ya there...
i'd check into how the boat sits on the trailer too. how it sits is adjustable. and it could be adj. wrong.. might not be waterlogged... think positive.. like i said, even just the weight of a spare tire increased my tongue weight by quite a bit by putting it towards the ft. of the trailer tongue..

"Had to remove all the foam, and replace, new interior, carpet, dash, gauges. well just about everything."

That's the one that scares me.

I might just be spooked but it was this heavy weight that had me looking in the first place.

We do have a metal buyer here with a scale as I think about it. I will take it there and weigh if I have too.

Scott will know in an instant if this happens or not.

I'm wishing the foam he had to remove was from the cushions and not the hull but I'm afraid that is wishful thinking.

Re: recently restored 19

have ya got a side pic of the boat on the trailer. maybe compare where the wheels are at compared to mine.

IMG_2134.jpg

where the fulcrum is at can mean a lot as far as tongue weight goes i think... i believe your supposed to have around 10% tongue weight. i could be wrong with my numbers though. but miss adj. on the trailer can mean to much tongue weight. the scales will be able to tell you too.

more food for thought. when i blew up on the beach last summer and couldn't get off by myself. in the end. it took 4 adults to lift my bow back into the water. and we were only picking up the bow.... and fighting 3' waves the were beating me sideways.. point is. it was heavy, too heavy for me alone to pick up.....

edit. looked up tongue weight in chapmans. 5%-10% is what the word is..

Thanks, I'll give it a good look over tomorrow and give you a call or email you. -- I got the nose up and at first look couldn't see anything under the seat but I will look some more tomorrow with a bright light and maybe remove the gas tank so I can see better.

Nice Job! My very first boat was a 1971 Aristocraft 19 with 165HP inline 6 cyl Mercruiser.
