recoil on9.8hp ser#6621036 mercury

I believe this is a 1985or 1986.The recoil jammed so I took it apart and the spring unwound.<br />Nothing seems to be broken but I can't figure out how to rewind the spring.!Can anyone give me instructions on the correct procedure? <br />THANKS<br />saverio<br />You can Email me at<br />kgreco@pivot.net

Remember to place the sping so the inside hook can pull the wheel in the right dirction to rewind it. Two ways to rewind the spring wind it ud in your hands , then grab it with needle nose pliers and place it in the houseing or install it by placing the end of the spring in the hsg and turning round and round till its all in there. Sure sounds simple when your on this end of the operation Good Luck--Bob
