We are looking for a new or lightly used 19 foot center console for fishing. This will replace a 19' Proline that really runs well, but I want a newer boat. Any recommendations on a good brand? The boat will be used largely on the reefs of the Florida Keys. Can't afford the likes of a Grady White or Edgewater unless some one is giving them away.

Does anyone know the 194 CC Codia? That seems like a good compromise to us. Comments/

cobia makes a great boat, and been around since the 60's. the hull handle calm and heavy water very well. i've had 3 over the years. all 19's but bowriders. they do have the deep V, wander at slow speeds as any deep V does.

Lots of nice used boats out there right now. Out of work people have to get rid of there toys. Be patient and prices will come down when they realize no one has money and they have to settle for half of what they expected to get. If it is financed they probably will be happy to get enough to pay it off, if they can get that much. People expect to get NADA price for there boats, good luck, never happen. To bad but economy runs in cycles. Lots of people out of work. Have you noticed how few construction vehicles and cement trucks are on the road lately ? Where did all the rush hour traffic go ? Thats the way it is here on the gulf coast anyway. FRED

Two others have just shown up on the radar screen as used boats. A 2001 192 Mako with a 150 Merc Optimax (203 hours) and a 2004 204FX Angler with a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke (90 hours). The Mako is priced firm at $15,500, the Angler at $14,000.

Any comments about Mako and Angler? Between these two the Angler seems the better deal, but it is a light boat for it's size.

Mako's are not the same now that they a product of Brunswick.

Angler was never high on anybodys list. Hit the side of the boat with your fist and the quality will just ring out at you.

Price seems a bit high but I only know my neck of the woods. Be patient, no such thing as a firm price. regards FRED

i think i would look for twin motors, if you are going to be doing a lot of boating in the Keys. we spend August at Little Torch Key.

I have been looking for the same type Boat, & have narrowed it down to "Parker" 18'. & talking to 3 dealers.
2001, 2004, Both have low hours well kept, trailers, etc.in the area of $13k to $19K.
The 2008 goes for $25K+.

Suggest you do Web research. & go to a boat show.
