Am looking for a 20-21 foot family fishing boat. I am looking for a boat with a little more gunnel height and V than what may be classified as a bay boat. The Key West 20 foot boat(Model 2020 DC or CC) looks like a style that I am looking for. The Pro-Line 20 also seems to be a style for consideration. I am looking for a used boat of fairly recent vingtage, say 2002 or newer. What other models should I consider; Wellcraft, Hydra Sports, others? Can anyone offer opinions as to the comparative quality of these boats and what your experiences/recommendations may be. Any opinions as to quality or other boats to consider are appreicated. Ability to handle chop under bay, jetty, very light offshore conditions, comfortable ride, quality of materials are priorities. Price range is 10-15K. Regards and thanks.

I have a 1988 23' Wellcraft center console that is great for the boating you describe. If anything the Wellcraft is overbuilt.

21' center console sea pro, sea hunt*, sea swirl, sea ox, sea the pattern yet?
The Parker and some others are great boats but no seating in the front. You want the V shaped lockers so you have seating and storage for the family.

Look at the Triton model. Others have similar lay-outs.

The grady cc is a good one too but will cost you more due to the name.

That CC with front V seating design is the best all around family boat IMO.

We recently bought a Tidewater 1900 Bay Max. It seems to have a little more gunwale height than some bay boats. For family use, the Sea Hunt Ultra series also looked nice.

Check Angler. I had their FX204 and it was a fantastic boat. Deep vee, high freeboard, solid performer. I sold my 2003 this year and got $15,000, but it was in perfect shape.
