The iboats mall doesn't carry them, but you can get one from a Mercury dealer, part # FK650450 $33
Or from several online retailers, part number 152-9209, for under $20.
Just enter the part number into google, and search, or go to
maxrules.com

It is #9 in this diagram:

Only a couple screws to deal with.
Disconnect the battery before you start.

Just so you know, the leading factors leading to rectifier failures lie with the battery. If you hook it up backwards, the rectifier will blow. If the battery connections are loose or corroded, the rectifier will blow.

Jeez, Roscoe! You're really kicking my butt!!! I remember when we had about the same number of posts. ;)

You can also save money and go to radio shack and get their 50 volt 25 amp bridge rectifier for 3 bucks. Been using one for the last year and half without prob.

I checked the rectifier that I took off and it is a 40 amp 400 volt part. can we use less, what are pros and cons. could it have side effects if used a 50 volt 25 amp ??

Remember, when working with the electrical system, disconnect the battery
