Is it possible for a rectifier to ooze a caramel colored stick substance? I have the 1977 Evinrude 115 that is having problems with idle and other running issues.
I did a little investigating after work today and under the rectifier is a good amount of caramel colored ooze that has dripped down the cylinder and directly under the rectifier it practically glued some wires to it.
I don't think this is normal and may be the beginning to the end of my motor issues.
