Re: Replacement Rectifier

Thanks John. That's how I wired it but I just wanted to be sure. I know these things are sensitive to incorrect wiring. I'll give it a try tomorrow
From some reference of a past thread titled replacement rectifier seen here, https://forums.iboats.com/threads/replacement-rectifier.241011/page-2

I am dealing with the same thing for a 1989 or 90 (not sure) Mariner 90hp. Need some help in understanding the additional white wires that are not mentioned in the previous post. What do I have going here? I will have to replace the rectifier with the three post offset model as well.

After much research and tearing my hair out, I have found that I believe the grey 3 post box you have pictured is a terminal box ONLY and not a rectifier.
Check page 39 of the below service manual... I think its a "design 2" terminal box.

Meaning the wee box next to the oil filler cap is a rectifier AND regulator in one.

Can anyone confirm this to be the case? Thanks in advance.
