I can't believe how bad the pitchers for the Tigers are in fielding. They gotta do better than that to beat the lowly Cards! Shucks, the end of the year even the Pirates were beating the Cards! How bad are the Tigers?

LMAO, worse than that, the Brewers won a couple. We normally can't even do that.

The Cards are playing well, but they got a gift last night. I can't help but think there was a bit of a let down from the Tigers having so much time between games. The Cards certainly benefit from the momentum.

Your right pony, everyone in thee National central will target the Cards next year because at one time or another they all pounded on them at least once this year. Without exception they will be saying to themselves that should have been us in the playoffs. But eat your hearts out it isn’t, it is the Cards.

They Beat up on the Mets, the Best record in the national league, and the Padres. Now its goodbye to the Kittens from Motown.........GOCARDS.

Manager Tony La Russa's Cardinals had just 83 regular-season wins, the fewest by a World Series winner, and nearly missed the playoffs after a late-season slump. But the Cardinals beat San Diego and the New York Mets in the playoffs, then won their first title since 1982 by taming a heavily favored Tigers team that entered the Series with six days' rest.

Congrats to the Cards and their fans! Can't believe the Tiger's pitchers could commit so many errors - talk about throwing the games! :$8)

Definitely went against what most people thought - the Cards sure did come back from their late season slump! Glad the NL won!

LOL, I don't think it should of been the preverbial "us" at all. You are talking to a guy whos team hasnt seen a record above .500 in 13 years, and even that was a strike shortened year.

I'm not gonna rain on your parade, I am sports guy.....wether they had a great regular season or not they got it done when it mattered, and that is exactly what championship teams do, and thats what the Cardinals are.

Be humbled however, as it won't happen next year 8), a healthy Brewers team with be a threat. Congrats though..........and I I can't be mad to see an NL team win it all.....................they had this league marked as a loser from the begining of the season.

EDIT: Time to root for the best team clad in Cardinal Red.................The Badgers8)8)

Congrats to the better team, the 2006 Saint Louis Cardinals. They played the game with class and skill. Whether it be the game 2 situation (I think there was something amiss there and La Russa(sp?) handled it perfectly) or executing the bunt to advance runners. There will be those "experts" debating how/why they won but the fact is they played better baseball and deserve to be crowned World Series champions. I only wish the Motor City Kitties would have had a better showing, but thats how it goes I guess. That's not to take anything away from the Cards, afterall it was their play that pushed the Tigers into the positions where they made errors. I wish all the Cardinals fans a wonderful year of safe and happy celebration. My trusty Ole English D goes of to all of you.

Sincerely and enviously,

"Detroit Dale"

Dale Thanks! Everyone said it would come down to pitching, but I don't think anyone expected it to be their fielding. We were very shocked by the errors made by their staff.
As for Kenny and his dirty hand, Tony did the right thing, there is not a single team out there that a pitcher is not trying to "get the edge" Just most dont do it when there are 1200 high rez cameras focused on them.
Anyway Thanks again and see you there again soon! d:)

The errors were a shock to us as well. I am not disappointed though. The fact that we seem to have a team that can compete for a few tears to come makes all of us here extremely happy.

Best part about it is they claim this is Hockeytown and with the boys doing so well on the diamond it proved what I've been saying for years, that this town is and always will be a baseball city first(and that's from a current amateur hockey player).

So hows the partying going down in MO? St Louis and Detroit are similiar in many ways, especially from an historic architechtural stand. Having spent a couple summers down that way with friends I can attest that its a great place. Enjoy the festivities hopefully next year we can have turn at it.

Having a good old time Dale the weathers been nice today, having a parade tomorrow, expecting the temp to reach about seventy. If the temps were like this for the last two days more than likely would be playing in Motown today. You guys did a fine job, especially with the record you had the last few years, truth be known we thought that the cards would be lucky to beat the Padres. We had teams in the last few years should have gone further, but got blown out, go figure. You have plenty of excellent players will be seeing the tigers for years to come.
