I put white LED lights on my boat for interior lighting.

I have one up in the bow (as shown), one at the stern and one under each console.

How much interier illumination do you want or need?
I believe you can buy LED belts that can be changed into multiple colors.

I would go with red. Red lights won't be seen when mounted low in the interior, and they don't affect your night vision. That's why aircraft gauges are backlit red. Bright lights like white or blue will cause temporary blindspots when they come into your vision scan.

I am still in the Army National Guard. Red and Blue are commonly used, depends on preference or unit SOP. Alot of interior vehicle lighting now is blue vs Red. There were issues with map terrain features that you could not see under a red lens and also the medic issue with blodd under a red lens. I am a combat lifesaver, so I use blue...

Absolutely...the map reading thing was certainly a motivator is moving to the blue light. I still remember struggling to read a map using the red on the old crook-neck army flashlight.

My wife at the time (now ex) was a medic also and she was always telling anyone who would listen (and those who didn't want to) about the problems seeing blood under the red. Pretty much everyone was happier when they went to the blue color.
