Red Stator Test--Is this stator bad???

Hi fellas,
Curious whether this stator is bad...
I get 697 ohms across green/white and white/green.
This should be ok, (i believe) however from the blue wire to engine ground I have around 600 ohms, in the test pages I've seen on here this should read open. Is this thing done for, or am I looking at another problem????

1996 Mercury Jet 45- Runs fine at low speed, get up to planing speed and the motor will quit like I turned the key off. I can then start it right back up again and idle around at half throttle all day long. Problem cropped up yesterday, ran fine the last 50 times I've had the thing out.

Should be 660 to 710 ohms. Unplug the rev. limiter.

Thanks for the reply Laddies. I unplugged the blk/yel wire from the rev limiter but still had the same deal. Kinda seems boggy once I start go get on plane, and then... dead. Doesn't matter if I back off the throttle or not. DEAD. But then it'll start right back up... Idle around all day no problem. I was wondering if anyone knows what the blue wire off of the adapter (red stator) does, and is it O.K. if I have resistance to ground? ( I can read about 600 k--NOT OPEN, like the cdi troubleshooting chart says.)

The adapter module on your engine is actually a shunt regulator and the blue wire is the wire that supplies voltage to the switch box it regulates the voltage to 300 volts by bleeding excess voltage to ground as your learning a OHM meter will show some problems but a DVA is much more precise. I wish I had more experince with the red stator kits but have never installed one as we have always used CDI replacements instead. If it don't past the CDI test be sure it's junk, also CDI has a service line and a very helpful staff.

should one change the trigger as well as the stator? and i do not have a switch box, 98 mariner 75 hp.
