Kend301 thanks for the reply,

Hmm, I did this yesterday but it doesnt look like it took. Sorry about the wrong catagory, reading the forum some peeps said I should have posted in the Force site.

Anyway the engine sn is: 0E100598. Should I assume I have a red stator as I have the stator adapter wired in? You have me concerned about the voltage regulator, it looks original.

Thanks for your help, if you know how I can link this thread with my original to the original one let me know.

Re: Red vs Black Stator

Easy way to tell , Old ones mounted to the motor with small wing tabs for the bolts less then 1/8" thick , The updated ones had the mounting bolts going through the entire 5/8" housing .

PS NEVER post Sport Jet info in merc or force , they are a combination of both and nothing applies or works as it does for standard outboards .

My enricher isnt working and I have questions on that after taking it apart, should I start a new thread?

that is the part number of the stator harness , good part number for your boat . Keep all info on one thread as I keep diag sheets on each person in here . What is up with the enricher ?

Re: Red vs Black Stator

I have to believe it is not working. Mine is not the wax melting type that I read about on the forums. Mine seems to be a straight forward solenoid with a needle pin that sets in a hole in the assembley and retracts when voltage is applied.

The way I figure it is this: you turn the key, either push it in or hold against the start position, and the solenoid retracts. (Cant find a procedure yet) The vacuum created by the engine and through the carbuerators sucks fuel from the top bowl into the enricher assembly. It is then distributed into the intake manifold bypassing the carburetors. It only works if in neutral beause once the throttle flys open the vacuum decreases and doesnt suck enough to bring in fuel bypassing the carbuerator. Am I close??? Any way I dont see a way to test the solenoid, my book is at home and I will have it tomorrow. If I pull out the solenoid from the assembly and turn or push the key it does not actuate or pull back. The only thing I see on the forum is to test the ohm between yellow to yellow and mine reads 18ohms, I am not sure how that tests a solenoid.

Any thoughts?

Bottom line is I it will not start unless I pull the "nuetral" pin and move the throttle to half position, against the pin. The flys open a bit and it starts right up.
