Red X instead of pictures

Need some help here please. Sometimes instead of pictures I get a small square box with a red X in it. Can't figure how to view. Happens on different websites. I'm running Windows98SE. Be gentle now, I'm not real computer savvy.

Do you have dial up internet...?<br /><br />Sometimes it takes a while to open multiple pictures.

ggoody, I have Verizon DSL with MSN8. It did it with dial up also. It does it even with just one pic.<br />Thanks

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools and Internet Options. Click Advanced on the top right. Then scroll down until you see the tick-box beside "show pictures" and make sure it is ticked.

Rudderman, Show Pictures was already checked.<br />Dunaruna, I've had them on various sites, although it isn't all the pictures on a particular site.<br />I'm looking for one of the red X now.<br />Thanks

right click on the red x, and chose show piture and see if that works.

I believe it the fault of the 'artifaxbooks' site. Pictures are likely no longer correctly linked. Have you tried searching the site?<br /><br />Aldo

Red x for me too. The images are simply not there. Not your fault.<br />I regularly come across images that don't show up. Only this week I came across a particular picture-hosting site that doesn't allow users in europe to view pictures, but USA/Australian/Canadian users can view them fine. Probably some sort of restrictions based on my IP address.<br /><br />try the link to my photo gallery below. You should see lots of thumbnail images.
