Has anyone considered "rhino lining" the floor of a boat instead of fiberglass on the top? Should be totoally waterproof and wear resistant.
Any thoughts? has anyone tried this before?

It will separate from the decking. The key is to encapsulate the decking with poly or epoxy. What you are thinking of trying will not last and many people have not been happy using rhino liner on deck surfaces.

Rhino and the truck bed liners can be real finicky on what they grab onto. Epoxy glass is always the best choice...HOWEVER....
with the proper primer the paint on products like Herculiner are not too different from the non skid deck coatings. Both are polyurethane based with grit in them...
the difference being that the marine deck coatings are typically cheaper ( even though they are formulated a little thicker than the truck bed stuff).

My brother took out the carpet in one of his bassboats and Rhino lined everything that had been covered. It looked great and still looked great after lots of use.

I like Herculiner. I have put in on several things and had no problems with it adhering. I put in on my fiberglass Jeep top 5+ years ago. It is stuck like glue.

If you want colors in a DIY coating, check out Grizzly Grip.
