I was looking through the old posts and i came across one that said you should not put any sealer on intake manifold gaskets, or carbuerator gaskets, ot the passages will get blocked. I just reassembled the power head and used a light coating of that peanut butter looking johnson/evinrude gasket sealer. I made sure to use it sparingly and keep it away from passages. But Im all parinoid now. should I go back in and try to remove the sealer? If so what should I put on these gaskets?

No sealer is required on new gaskets.--Trouble is that many folks do not know what a " light coating " is and will use 10 times what is needed.-----In your case I would leave it.

Yeah, just consider what would happen if you slopped on a heavy coat. It would squeeze out and get to the tips of the reed petals. So they say not to use any at all. No problem if you didn't overdo it.
