Refinishing wood trim on '86 Rinker- is it teak?

Bought a 17' 1986 Rinker- after the triage of working on the trailer first, then the mechanical maintenance on the boat, I'm finally at the point where I can work on the cosmetics.

Got a question on the wood trim on the boat, of which there is quite a bit. I'm not really asking about how to restore the wood, because I've found several threads on that. But the threads I've found are all about restoring teak trim, and teak seems to have its own quality that would affect how you restore it. So my question is, would a 1986 17' Rinker boat be likely to have teak trim, or some cheaper type of wood? If not teak, what would it likely be?

can't say for certain on your boat without pics, but did a google search for your make and model and the few pics that I was able to pull up appears to be teak.

Thanks BWT! I thought of posting pics but the trim looks so weathered and gray I didn't know if it would be any help.

My Google searching skills are good but I didn't even think of searching for "1986 Rinker teak trim" or some variation before I posted, for some reason. I just tried it now to see what I'd find, and i didn't find much useful to answer my question. But iboats forum webmasters will be glad to know that these three Google queries:

"1986 rinker teak trim"
"1986 rinker wood trim"
"did 1986 rinkers have teak wood trim?"

...all show my post as the #1 hit. That's some quick indexin'.

If your trim has grey'd out, then I feel pretty comfortable it's teak. A quick sanding and it should turn nutty-brown again :)
