I have a 9 gal. plastic portable gas tank in my 16 ft. boat. I was told not to put gas in the tank while the boat is on the trailer. Instead I'm to remove the tank and place it on the ground to refuel. 9 gal. X 8 lbs./gal. =72 pounds of fuel. Too heavy to lift and place in my boat. Is there a way to ground my tank so it woun't build up a static charge? thanks

Re: refueling question

Just keep the fuel nozzle in contact with the neck of the tank and you will be safe, missed_shot.

I have a 28 gallon plastic tank in my boat. No way can I lift it into the boat full.
