Here's a question for the brain trust...
Does anyone know where I can get a deal on a trailer for a 96 Regal Leisurecat 26?
Long story short, the boat is in Cape Coral Florida, I'm in SE Pennsylvania.
The boat is essentially free, all I have to do go and get it.
The repair work it needs is affordable (2900 for repair of rotted transom), but the prices I'm getting on trailers are threatening to sink the deal.
So far I've gotten quotes from Loadmaster and Float On in the 5 to 6K plus range.
I'm waiting for an answer from Boatmaster, but I'm not too hopefull they'll be any lower.
Searching Craigslist has turned up nothing.
What I have discovered so far is that I really need to go with an aluminum trailer due to tow vehicle limitations.
The aluminum Float On was almost half the weight of the Galvanized Loadmaster.
The boat weighs 3200 dry, so I'll need a trailer good for nearly 5K, and that alone is bumping the upper limit of my tow capacity, making trailer weight an important consideration.
Any ideas?
I'm not opposed to a used trailer if I can find one.
Anyone within 150 miles or so of Philly, or the Cape Coral/Ft Myers area got one sitting around?
Help!!
