Re: relacement head 1986 140hp rude

The number of 328624 ia a casting number, not a part number. The OMC part number would be 438526 which lists for approximately $313.00. I have one left in my remaining stock that I would discount.

The number of 333686 is apparently also a casting number as it is not listed in the OMC price book. I have no idea what that might be.

If the head is identical in every respect, I would assume it would interchange. However, if there is the slightest difference, I'd suggest that you avoid it. Good luck.

Thanks joe for the reponse, the head is not the same due to low compression on both cyl. on that bank. I found a head with the same casting # that shouldork fine. Any idea on the replacement of the cyl. nipple for recirc. system, I have one broke on cyl. #3 and need to repair or replace. Thanks for heads up on the head, could'nt resist!

If you're speaking of the nipple on the side of the block near the cylinder head, that would be part number 327706. If there's anything there to grab onto, I grab it with a pair of vice grips, allowing enough room between the grips anmd the block for a screwdriver so that I can simply pry it out.

If nothing to grab... carefully drill it out

Installing one is simple enough.... just gently tap it in with a small hammer and brass punch. Use loctite.
