Re: release screw

Bad news in a way. That system has a manual release for UP only. If you want to lower it, there are two methods. Use the pump or loosen one of the hydraulic lines and bleed oil all over the place. Bad design to say the least.

To raise the motor manually you must release the reverse lock function. To do so, locate the knurled knob on the front of the pump housing and turn it in the direction indicated (I can't recall if its fully CW or CCW).

As Moody said. If the motor is down, loosen the knurled knob and you can lift it up, and lock it up with the dog ears on the transom clamp. it will lower manually as well. if you lift it hydraulically, loosening the manual release will do nothing. You will need to open a hydraulic line a bit and let some oil leak out to lower it manually. I think reverse lock is off if you turn the knob CW, but I am not really sure anymore.
