Relocating the speedo and transducer holes to above the waterline. I currently have 2 9/16" holes and the hole for the speedo tube. These areas in the transom are solid fiberglass. Can I put some tape on the outside of the hull and fill with 5200?

I'd recommend this... Use a dremel to bevel the edges on both sides back a bit, then mix up some resin, cabosil and some CSM fibers to make some "Hairy Peanut Butter" (Mix the resin, Cabosil and fibers till it's as thick as peanut butter) and then tape off one side and use a plastic putty knife to fill the holes. Then do the final fairing with some gelcoat paste OR Primer and Paint after you sand it all down really well.;)

You can BUY Bondo Hair at the AutoParts store and since this is above the water line it'll work OK. It has WAX in it so if you want to gelcoat over it you'll need to prep it first.

The ones I'm filling are below or right at the waterline. I'm relocating to above the waterline.

In that case I'd use regular resin..
Wait, you're replacing your transom...Right??? You don't have to do anything except tape over the holes. When you glue in the transom the PB will fill any/all holes. This is why it's good to keep all your questions in your project thread so we can remember what you're doing.

Thanks. I need to order resin anyway. I was going to order a gallon 435 resin and 2.5 qt cabosil for random repairs.
