Re: reman or rebuild

If the coolant leaked into the Base,....... That would explain the oil pump.......

Antifreeze is a Very Poor Lubricant,...... And, Doesn't Mix with the oil like water will.........

Re: reman or rebuild

As I said in an earlier post, I have the missing coolant problem so I looked into this and found that there is water in my oil. I have scheduled a garage to replace the gasket on Tuesday. This morning I decided to change the oil. The oil had a few milky spots, but what really got me was when I dumped the filter the oil was really just sludge. I mean it had lumps like the bottom of a glass of chocolate milk. Will this be corrected with the freah oil and filter? Should I have the garage flush the engine (if that is the right term)? I have changed the oil every 3500 miles and never noticed this before. The garage is going to change the gasket, change the plugs (as long as they are in there and replace the serpentine belt for $400-$450. I thought that was cheap. The dealer wanted $1100. I have dealt with this guy before and he is a straight shooter so I am pretty confident of his work.
