Mine is hidden inside the bulkhead on my aluminum bass boat. The only thing exposed is the control handle. I need to access this area in order to change my cables, right? Anyone familiar with this type of setup? Thanks in advance....joebob

joebob,

Yes, you need to access the contol panel from behind.

It is pretty much the same as a self contained unit, just a bit expanded with the workings behind a "wall".

It's actually pretty simple, you won't have the ignition switch wiring and such to deal with.

Hey joebob....what djohns said and a little more. Look for sheet metal screws that holds the "metal box" the control is mounted in. Usually removing the screws will give you access to the hidden part of the control.

Thanks guys...there is a small plastic "cover" just to the rear of the control arm. I guess that those screws are underneath.
