Hi everybody,
I?m looking for a remote control system to operate a Mercury 15hp Pro-kicker. I usually fish the great lakes (Ontario) alone in my 18 ft boat. When I have a fish, I have to reel and net that monster salmon. In the mean time the boat goes every where except keeping actual heading!
The system I'm looking for should be controlled by a built-in compass (as a Minn Kota auto-pilot electric motor) and/or an external GPS.
Do you know where can I find such a device.
Thanks!
Plor

I'd say that you're looking at the same auto pilot system that would steer the main. In fact, the best bet would likely be to install on the main and tie the kicker to the main..... you'll need deep pockets..... why not just install a kill switch and just kill the engine while fighting the fish?

Depends on how deep your pockets are.

I know I'm a month late but just to put few cents in. I do have an older raymarine autopilot. I gotta tell you it works great? I like to fish alone sometimes also it would be tough to do with out "auto" I have my 9.9 merc pro kicker slaved to my big motor. I've had this thing on 4 different boats. Its easy to install and works great. Mine is a sport pilot plus. Because of dash configuration I even had to mount it sideways once still worked great.. Got it on ebay in late 90's, I think about $600 new. Just remember it don't see other boats, lol
