I have 1997 merc 25hp manual start with a tiller control 2cycle.I have installed a side console to my boat and want to go to remote. What remote box will i need an what cables.Forward and reverse is on the hand grip thank you

Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />You'll also need a steering conversion kit and throttle/shift conversion kit. You have a lot of choices regarding the remote, but if you go aftermarket you'll also need a wiring harness to the motor. Few dealers stock much of this, so expect to have to order. All but the remote will have to come thru a merc dealer. None of it is cheap.
