Remote Controlls

Hi All. I have a Fourwinns ,1997 18' with a Volvo Penta 5.7L GL. The controlls are stiff and jerkey and it apears as though Bubba has poorley repaired the controlls at some time. Is it best to replace the controlls and cables and if so what would you recomend . <br /> Thanks to Don S. He has been bang on with his advice so far .If you have been reading this board you know that I have replaced the engine and outdrive and am now on to the controlls. What did people do before this Forum ?<br />Bill

How does it feel when you are just doing throttle? <br /><br />If that feels smooth your throttle cable is ok. It could be just that the shift cable has some corrosion in it. Happened to mine.

I think that someone has done something to the controll. I got my head in there to look and there is a small hose clamp holding the one cable . <br /> If I replace the controll what is the best way to go. Thanks Bill
