I'm needing remote controls (shift/throttle) that mount on the right side of the factory console for my 2000 Suntracker 21 Fishing Barge (w/ a 2001 Mercury 40hp) I've contacted Tracker and apparently the controls are no longer available. Does anybody know of an aftermarket setup or another Mercury unit that will work (or even perhaps where I can find a used OEM part)? The controls I've found mount on the starboard side of the boat. But, to mount those controls on the right side of the console, I'd have to spin the controls 180 degrees, and this would result in my shifting being reversed. What are my options? Thanks in advance.

This is just a wild guess. Would it be possible to move the throttle lever to the opposite side of the assembly and fabricate a simple plate to cover what used to be the back of the throttle assembly and is now the exposed side? Another idea would be to attach the existing throttle assembly to a U-shaped metal bracket that could be attached to the console (i.e., the bracket is attached to the console and the throttle sits in the pocket formed by the bracket and is attached to it).

I've never had a set of Mercury controls that mount like you're talking about, but I do have 2 sets of OMC controls that you can take the throttle lever out of and reverse it so you can mount it on either a left or right facing surface. Post a picture of what you have and your console, they are available and it will be easier to help you if we know exactly what you are looking for.

Maybe this one?

Might be a little early for me but isn?t the right side of the boat the ?Starboard side??

At any event, I've seen a control box mounted against the rail rather than the console. Just a thought...

I think he's trying to find the one that goes back in the hole in his dash.
